Carpark & road upgrade

Yes! All of Cabbage Tree Swamp Drive will be progressively upgraded, AND the car park that serves the Hub and the Shed, between now and early November.

Right now, access is blocked from Aroha Ave at the top of the park - however Sandringham Road entrance remains open. As far as we are aware access to the Hub will remain unaffected during this part of the upgrade, albeit with part closures of Cabbage Tree Swamp Drive from either the Sandringham Road or Aroha Ave entrances until the new signage, speed bumps, and widening of the foot path is completed in mid October.

While the car park is in dire need of the work, this is obviously not ideal timing, with an increasing number of activities and events at the Hub. At this stage the work on the car park upgrade is expected to begin on the 1st of October and run through to first week of November, weather permitting.

The trustees are working with Auckland Council, and the contractor, to minimise the disruption, and maintain suitable pedestrian access to the Hub, along with discussing limited deliveries, as required to the Commons through this period. However, the car park will be inaccessible for the duration of the carpark work. Some of the trustees will be meeting with the contractor next week to discuss the details further.  If you have any specific concerns about how an existing booking or activity may be affected, or expect to require a significant delivery over this period please contact trustees@gribblehirsthub.nz.

Thankfully we still have plenty of cycle parking.
